When the tide is outgoing, approach from the east. The operator maintains more control of the boat when driving straight into the current. Drive the boat straight into the face dock to avoid needing to manuever in tight quarters. No need to worry about backing into narrow slips when the current is flowing from changing tides. We suggest finding a dockage space near the tip of the pier to back or drive out with ease. When boats line each side, it becomes narrow, making it challenging to enter or depart, particularly when the tide is incoming or outgoing. One important factor to keep in mind is the distance between each finger pier. Fortunately, you won’t need to worry about adjusting lines to account for tides because they are floating docks. The docks are constructed as fingers extending from a central pier with a ramp to climb up and down. On our trip to Fish Tales, we arrived at 11 AM on a Sunday morning and were pleasantly surprised by the dock space available. Additionally, the shore in this area is lined with boat docks that would appreciate that you are not throwing a wake. McAllister and monitoring the depth to prevent running into danger. There were enough choices that you could find something for everyone. The menu had mostly a selection of seafood (which makes sense given the name) that was fried, broiled or grilled. It was still busy with most of the tables occupied. A waitress cleaned off a table for us as soon as we got there around 1400. While it looked like there might be indoor seating we sat outside at a table overlooking the marina. Parking can be found in front of the restaurant as well as across the street. The restaurant is located along the river adjacent to a marina. We ate at Fish Tales for lunch after visiting nearby Fort McAllister State Park. We will be returning to try a few more items on the menu Well I am glad I asked because that plum sauce in combination with the crab cake was divine. I asked the waitress if there was any sauce she could offer so she told us about their special plum sauce. I tried the crab cake sandwich which was delicious but they don't add any sauce to the sandwich which made it kinda dry and hard to swallow. My friend had Shrimp and Grits which according to her was outstanding. Our kids had fish fingers which were so good that there wasn't even a crumb left on their plates. I highly recommend the She Crab Soup which was off the chain. Food is fresh, cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. Over the course of the past three tears we've tried countless restaurants in this area including a fair share of seafood places. Stewart so I suppose you could call us locals to an extend. LaunchBar can add an event or reminder from its search window. And all except Butler and Spotlight can open a document in an app other than the default one for that file type (for instance, opening a Word document in Pages), and let you type keywords to perform a wide variety of system actions-things like hiding the current app, changing your volume, or restarting your Mac.īutler’s window isn’t as modern or flashy as the others and has fewer options, but it still intelligently prioritizes your choices. (In Quicksilver, you must type “=” as your first character to trigger the calculation.) In addition, all except Butler let you use Quick Look to preview a selected item without opening it. But the next time you type “m” (or, depending on the launcher, after a few tries), Messages comes up as the first choice.Īll the launchers except Butler can perform calculations right in the search field. For example, if you type “m” in an effort to find and open Messages, perhaps Mail comes up on the list sooner, so you arrow down to Messages instead. All except Butler also have mechanisms for adding plugins in order to extend searches to include items such as 1Password logins and Transmit favorites.Īll the launchers become smarter as you use them. For example, you can ask them to look at only specific files or folders, or perform specialized Web searches for, say, Twitter users or IMDB entries. (You can see the full list of search categories in System Preferences > Spotlight >, where you can also disable or reorder the categories as you see fit.)Īlfred, Butler, LaunchBar, and Quicksilver display and open most of the same data types as Spotlight, but offer much more configurability. In Yosemite, Spotlight displays most results (including Wikipedia pages, movie trailers, maps, and so on) right in its pop-up window. In addition, Spotlight can search the Web (via Bing), perform currency conversions, show Dictionary definitions, and more. But Spotlight can find and open nearly anything on your Mac, including documents, folders, System Preferences panes, Mail messages, iTunes tracks, and contacts. The word launcher implies that you’ll be opening apps, and all the launchers (including Spotlight) prioritize apps in their search results. (If you want to use more than one launcher at the same time, that’s fine too, as long as each has a different keyboard shortcut.) What you can find and open Similarly, each of the non-Apple launchers has a default keyboard shortcut involving the Spacebar (LaunchBar uses Command-Spacebar, the same as Spotlight for Alfred, it’s Option-Spacebar for Butler and Quicksilver, it’s Control-Spacebar), but you can change this to whatever you prefer-just make sure your chosen launcher doesn’t conflict with Spotlight. Spotlight uses the Command-Spacebar shortcut by default, but you can change it if you like by going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Spotlight >, double-clicking the keyboard shortcut next to Show Spotlight Search, and pressing a new key combination. You can disable or rearrange categories for Spotlight searches in this preference pane. In most cases, localhost is just an acronym that, by default, refers to 127.0.0.1. How Does a 127.0.0.1 Loopback Work? What Is Localhost? This aspect of loopback helps to ensure network security. As a result, if a data packet accidentally gets outside the local node, it will not reach the computer. In that case, it should discard the packet without logging information. Suppose any public switch, router, or gateway receives a packet that someone has addressed to a loopback IP address. When establishing an IPv4 connection to 127.0.0.1, a subnet mask of 255.0.0.1 is generally assigned. Usually, system administrators and application developers use 127.0.0.1 to test applications. The main difference is that connecting to 127.0.0.1 does not use the LAN interface hardware. How Does 127.0.0.1 Work?Įstablishing a network connection to the loopback address 127.0.0.1 is almost identical to any remote computer or device on the network. Therefore, the protocol does not guarantee delivery, data integrity, or correct data consistency instead, relying on the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) to solve these problems. IPv4 is considered a connectionless protocol intended for use in Ethernet networks. Although IPv6 is gradually replacing IPv4, its adoption is still under development. IETF RFC 791, finalized in September 1981, is the current definition of the protocol. In IPv4, 127.0.0.1 is the most widely used worldwide. IP (Internet Protocol) is a set of rules that provides a standardized method of addressing and communication between computers and other network devices. Despite being the most common and well-known address, 127.0.0.1 is just one address in a large block (127.0.0.0 – 127.255.255.255) reserved for backhaul in RFC 6890. Thus, routers that receive traffic destined for 127.0.0.1 must drop the packets, which ensures that no traffic destined solely for the host computer reaches the Internet. Such addresses MUST NOT appear outside the host”. RFC 1122 says – “Internal loopback host address. When you send it, instead of throwing it to the local network or the Internet, it simply “loops” on itself, and the computer that sent the packet becomes the recipient. A host loop means no data packet addressed to 127.0.0.1 should ever leave the computer (host). As the name implies, the application for this address is local – to establish an IP connection with your computer. 127.0.0.1 is a loopback Internet Protocol address called “localhost”. However, what is it, and why is it so famous? Let’s get to the bottom of it now. It appears in memes, on t-shirts as well as in tech documentation. And this is the case where loopback address for router ID in OSPF is beneficial.127.0.0.1. But (!!) if any other router ( A, B, C or D) will have one (or more) of its interface(s) down, then if the router ID was not "set deterministically" - new advertisement will have to be sent onto the network, which will affected the overall bandwidth of it. On the other hand, if the router ID was set "deterministically" by configuring it to be the loopback address (or if there is any loopback address in the OSPF process), that will never go down (unless of course, the entire router/OSPF process will go down), then if any one of the interfaces of the router goes down, the router ID won't be affected, therfor no multicast OSPF "new router ID" messages will be sent onto the network.Ĭonsidering the above topology, in case router E (or more precisely its only interface) goes down, then anyway, when it will go up again it will still advertise its router ID "all over again". So, on any link failure for a specific router - if the logic of the router ID selection is still set on the "highest IP address" and there is no loopback address configured as well in the OSPF process (or there is no loopback address in the router at all) - then this link failure will trigger a new router ID selection procedure "within" the router and, perhaps more importantly, will obligate this router to advertise its "newly elected" router ID, meaning send OSPF messages again onto the network. This ID is chosen among ALL available interfaces on a given router UNLESS explicitly configured otherwise. As others mentioned, every OSPF router chooses a router ID. Adding to Maupin great answer I would further say that the (wise) choice of the router ID to be the loop back interface will be more "powerful" upon link failure scenarios. For isolating particular muscles, the adjustable cable machines are an excellent choice for single-joint exercises, like biceps curls, and multi-joint exercises, like overhead presses. By making it possible to adjust the distance between the weight stacks and the pivot point, these machines can train muscles evenly throughout the motion. On the other hand, the distance increases when easier exercises are being performed to make the weights more difficult to lift. During challenging exercises, the distance between the weight stacks and the pivot point decreases to make it easier to lift the weights. The movement of cables over the cam affects the weight stacks and the pivot point or axle over which the cam turns. They feature a wheel or cam that looks like a kidney bean. Adjustable cable crossover machines are more common in gyms these days. Some of the exercises you can do on a fixed-resistance cable machine include shoulder presses, bench presses, and triceps presses. Maximum resistance on this cable crossover machine is felt where the joint’s angle is at its weakest. It’s like the weight you are lifting during exercise changes, so your muscles are not put through the same kind of work in one movement. With this cable machine, you’ll have to put more effort into certain parts of your exercise because your muscles change in length and due to the pull’s angle. Fixed-resistance cable crossover machines feature the cables and pulleys arranged in a preset manner, where you lift the weight stacks by pulling down the handle at the end of the cable. There are two main types of cable machines. To provide variation, different handles may be used, such as the short horizontal bar, parallel-arm lat bar, single-handed D-grip, double-handed low row bar, U- or V-shaped press-down bar, or an ankle collar. To utilize a weight, you simply have to slide in a pin through the plate, inserting it through the guide rods for the stack. Weight stacks used by a cable machine for resistance are usually made of rectangular plates that weigh 10 or 20 pounds each. When you use cable crossover machines, you are applying force to your muscles, the direction which you can freely alter with the help of the pulley. Since you can pull on the cables from different directions, the cable crossover machine can be used to train different groups of muscle, making it one of the most (if not THE most) versatile exercise machines around. Cables run through the pulley (or a few of them) and connect to the weight stacks to be lifted. It’s typically a steel-framed structure, standing two meters high and about three meters wide, with weight stacks located on both sides and adjustable pulleys that you can set to any height. Today, most gyms have a cable machine you can use for both weight and functional training. They are further improved by another fitness legend Harold Zinkin in the 1950s. The earliest cable crossover machines were designed by fitness legend Jack LaLanne.
